(35 hours per week/ 3 years contract)
Salary: £26,000 pro rata

The Strathmore Centre for Youth Development (SCYD) in Blairgowrie is looking to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable Community Engagement Youth Worker. The successful applicant will be passionate about making positive change, and about the key role that youth play in a strong and vibrant community.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Youth Work Manager to develop and deliver SCYD’s Engagement Strategy. You will generate volunteering opportunities, and build and develop SCYD’s Youth Events team. You will also have direct responsibility for recruiting and mentoring a Trainee Digital Champion who will identify and train young people to support others in the community who are in need of digital support. In addition to this there is an expectation that you will participate in regular youth activities.
This is a new role, created by funding from the National Lottery’s Community Fund. We are looking for a positive and proactive individual who will be able to embrace the ethos and aims of this new project and carry it forward. You will have qualifications and experience relevant to this role, in particular you will have experience of working within community engagement initiatives and with working with young people. Experience developing new projects, and community engagement will be particularly beneficial to this role.
